In recent years, there has been a noticeable increase in the volume of mutual trade between Kyrgyzstan and the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. This was stated by Azamat Murataliev, head of the Trade Policy Department of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, during his speech on the radio.

He noted that Kyrgyzstan, as a full-fledged member of the Eurasian Economic Union, has the opportunity to take advantage of the benefits of a single customs space, which facilitates the movement of goods, services, and capital between the member countries.

According to Murataliev, Russia and Kazakhstan remain Kyrgyzstan's main trading partners. From 2021 to 2025, the volume of mutual trade of the republic with the EAEU countries increased by 1.7 times: exports grew by 45%, while imports nearly doubled, increasing by 1.8 times.

According to data from the National Statistical Committee, in 2025, the volume of mutual trade of Kyrgyzstan reached 5.924 billion US dollars, which is 7.7% more compared to 2024. Imports amounted to 4.772 billion dollars, showing a growth of 25%, while exports decreased by 32%, totaling 1.152 billion dollars.

The share of EAEU countries in Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover in 2025 was 37.4%, including 40.4% in exports and 36.8% in imports.

“The main export items to the union countries include dairy products, fish, vegetables, fruits, nuts, textile products, light industry goods, glassware, and other consumer goods. Imports mainly consist of energy resources, raw materials, and intermediate goods such as natural and liquefied gas, petroleum products, wheat, flour, vegetable oil, sugar, as well as construction materials and metals,” added Murataliev.
