On February 17, Mayor Jenishbek Toktorbaev visited the territorial administration "Alymbek-Datka," where the deadlines for completing the work were announced. The builders have one month to complete the main concrete works before the irrigation season begins.
“We have time until the 20th of March, when water will start flowing into the channels. By that time, it is necessary to complete the construction of the supports and structures of three important bridges: at the intersections of Suyunbaev - Atabaev, Sargalchaev - Tolonov, and on Tolonov Street. It is also important to quickly finish the construction of supports on St. Petersburg Street. If we do not manage to do this, the spring rains and floods will make work in the riverbeds impossible,” the mayor noted.
The reconstruction of the bridges is part of a larger project for the major overhaul of the streets Atabaev and Yu. Tolonov, which will be completely updated this year and transformed into modern four-lane highways.
According to the municipality, the width of the roads will increase to 9 meters, which will eliminate long-standing traffic jams. New sidewalks will be created, and utilities, such as gas pipes, have already been relocated outside the construction zone. Sanitary pruning of trees and landscaping of the adjacent territory are also planned.
The mayor reported that the issue of expanding these sections was regularly raised by residents at annual meetings. The problem of narrow bridges has been a "bottleneck" for the area for many years. “Previously, we updated the road, but the issue with the bridges remained open. Now we are addressing it comprehensively. Residents will stop complaining about the slow pace of work and will be grateful when the city gets wide and safe roads,” he added.
