The largest crowds have been recorded in the meat departments, at the displays with canned goods, as well as in the sections with sweets and beverages. The lines at the checkouts stretch several meters. According to shoppers, the wait for checkout takes between 15 to 30 minutes. In several supermarkets, employees are working in enhanced mode, opening additional checkout counters.
City residents note that this situation repeats itself every year before the New Year. Many prefer to do their shopping at the last minute, which leads to increased pressure on retail outlets.
