According to the Ministry of Economy, vehicles with foreign registration were imported into the country through so-called gray schemes, without following the customs clearance procedure and without paying the necessary duties, as required by the legislation of the EAEU and Kyrgyzstan.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Economy points out that in the case of vehicles imported through gray schemes, customs payments were not made. In some situations, there were also demands for the registration of vehicles at undervalued rates.
"In this regard, the question of fairness arises: why are those who comply with the law forced to bear financial costs, while those who violate import rules try to evade them?" - emphasizes the agency.During the previous campaign, key results were achieved:
- more than 30,000 vehicles were legalized;
- illegal import of vehicles was stopped;
- the gray sales market was eliminated;
- transparency of circulation and safety of operation were ensured.
