"In Kyrgyzstan, only 15% of citizens actively engage in sports"
A comprehensive program aimed at the development of physical culture and sports until 2030 has been developed in the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers, which is currently being discussed with the public.
This roadmap covers key aspects such as mass and professional sports, infrastructure development, training of specialists, digitalization, and support for national sports. The main goal is to create an accessible and modern system that promotes the health of the population and enhances the competitiveness of Kyrgyz athletes on the world stage.
According to data, currently only 15% of the country's population regularly engages in physical activity. Authorities plan to increase this figure to 30%, which will be achieved by expanding access to sports sections, school and student leagues, as well as events for adults and the elderly. More than 3,000 mass events aimed at promoting physical activity are planned to be held in the republic each year," the program's initiators emphasized.
Particular attention will be paid to the creation of infrastructure. It is planned to build accessible sports centers in rural areas, as well as to equip sports grounds and tracks. All sports facilities in the country will undergo an inventory to address the existing deficit.
The program also includes training of sports doctors, psychologists, nutritionists, coaches, and referees, as well as modernization of the education system and state orders.
Centers dedicated to national sports, including kok-boru and Kyrgyz kyz kuu games, will be opened in each district.
Digitalization will be implemented everywhere, and a national digital platform for e-sport will be created.
All state and municipal bodies will report twice a year on the implementation of the program.
