Gulya Kozhokulova, a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, shared her opinion on the recent personnel changes in the highest echelons of power, as well as discussed potential candidates for the speaker position and the presidential elections.
- Gulya Akmatkulovna, what are your expectations regarding the new speaker? Who could take this position after the resignation of Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu?
- It is difficult to make specific predictions, however, the name Marlen Mamataliyev is actively discussed in the press as the most likely candidate. At the moment, the factions are negotiating, so a final decision is still ahead.
- We cannot avoid discussing the situation around Kamchybek Tashiev. Do you think he will be able to participate in the presidential elections? Society seems to be divided into two camps.
- Honestly, it is hard for me to say. Every citizen has the right to participate in elections, the main thing is to meet the requirements set by the Constitution, such as age and experience. This is the foundation. But ultimately, the opinion of the people plays a decisive role.
- Nevertheless, there are rumors that if he participates in the elections, considering his popularity in the south, he has every chance of winning.
- At this moment, it would be inappropriate to comment on such predictions. Everything depends on the decision of the Constitutional Court; let’s not rush to conclusions. Uncertainty will only dissipate after the court provides its ruling on all legal issues.
Lawyers have a saying: "Gather three lawyers - you will get five opinions." To avoid misunderstandings, it is important to have a clear and competent interpretation of the Basic Law. I urge everyone to adhere to the Constitution and avoid populist statements.
Our society is quite mature and politically active. People realize that the future of the country depends on them. Using the situation for narrow interests is the wrong path. Such questions arise in any state, and I do not see anything global or "supernatural" here, as it is sometimes attempted to be presented. Even the recent statement by the speaker about his resignation speaks to his political maturity. It is evidence that no one should cling to their positions at any cost. Everyone understands that the main thing is peace and stability in the country.
