Today, at the republican meeting, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, shared the successes achieved as a result of changes in the country's housing policy.

In his opinion, having one's own home is one of the key conditions for ensuring a decent life for citizens. He noted: “It is impossible to talk about the stability and well-being of a family without a home. I realized the seriousness of the housing problem when I took on presidential powers. Many families lived for years in rented apartments and dormitories, dreaming of saving for their own housing but lacking the means to do so. I set myself the goal of making the state a reliable partner for citizens in solving housing issues.”

Over the past five years, it has been possible not only to activate mortgage programs but also to radically change the approach to housing policy. The year 2025 became significant: the State Mortgage Company demonstrated outstanding results. In just one year, more than 4,600 families became owners of their own apartments, which accounts for half of the total number of housing provided over the previous four years. Since 2021, 9,250 families across the republic have received their own housing,” the president added.

Sadyr Japarov emphasized that among the new homeowners are young families who have entered their homes for the first time, as well as doctors, teachers, and public sector workers who have waited for this opportunity for many years. For people from socially vulnerable categories, access to housing has become a real turning point.

“We have truly made the ‘My Home’ program large-scale and accessible. This is the largest housing initiative in the history of independent Kyrgyzstan. Although most projects are implemented in the capital and Chui region, where the demand for housing is particularly high, active construction continues in other regions such as Osh, Jalal-Abad, Issyk-Kul, Batken, Talas, and Naryn regions,” he noted.

The president also added that the funds allocated by the State Mortgage Company for housing construction are distributed evenly: 50% is directed to the north of the country, and 50% to the south. Last year, out of 400 million dollars, 200 million was allocated to each side. The same will be true this year. Following the principle of fair balance, we take into account that the population in the north and south is approximately equal. This approach applies not only to housing policy but also to the distribution of state funds as a whole,” Sadyr Japarov concluded.
