
Deputies will now vote using fingerprints and facial recognition
President Sadyr Japarov has made changes to the regulations of the Jogorku Kenesh. This was reported by the press service of the head of state, noting that the corresponding law has been signed.
The draft law "On the Regulations of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic" was approved by deputies on December 24 of last year and aimed at improving the work of parliament. Among the innovations is the creation of the position of first deputy speaker and limitations on the number of deputies from one faction or group in committees.
Another important innovation is the implementation of a voting system using electronic identification through fingerprints and facial recognition. This system will begin functioning on January 1, 2027.
