The diplomat noted that "the official position is voiced only by those authorized to do so." According to her, Moscow constantly emphasizes that its approach to Central Asia is based on the principles of partnership and mutual respect. The Situation with the TV Host
Journalists have noted changes in Vladimir Solovyov's broadcast schedule against the backdrop of discussions regarding his recent statements, Tengrinews reports. According to Russian media, the program "Evening with Vladimir Solovyov" has stopped airing on the "Russia 1" channel since January 12, and another show is being broadcast in its place. The reason for this was broadcasts in which Solovyov discussed the possibility of a "new special military operation" in Central Asia, according to Sib.fm.
In his remarks, he also referred to the former Soviet republics as "our lands," which caused discontent and required diplomats to clarify that these words do not reflect Moscow's official position. Within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, such incidents are viewed as "self-inflicted wounds in live broadcasts," sources report.
We remind you that Solovyov's provocative statements sparked active discussion on social media and reactions from the countries he mentioned. The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Russian ambassador in Yerevan, Sergey Kopyrkin, to deliver a note of protest expressing deep dissatisfaction with his remarks. In Kyrgyzstan, MP Dastan Bekeshov proposed declaring Solovyov a persona non grata; however, the presidential administration noted that his words lack serious grounds. In Kazakhstan, Majilis deputy Aidos Sarym compared the TV host's statement to "a mosquito bite, which is not worth shooting at."
