Many Kyrgyzstani users expressed dissatisfaction in the comments on the video regarding the excessively lavish receptions for representatives of the authorities, the use of national costumes, and adherence to ceremonial protocol. The public believes that such forms of meetings are outdated and require a radical review. This incident sparked active discussions about how officials' visits are organized locally and why such situations become targets of sharp criticism.
However, some commentators supported the minister, noting that opening the door for a woman is a norm of etiquette, not a form of subservience.
It should be noted that similar situations have repeatedly attracted attention in Kyrgyzstan. For example, in 2016, a scandal occurred in the Alay district during the opening of a kindergarten when children were dressed lightly while officials appeared in warm jackets. After the media uproar, the Ministry of Education took disciplinary measures against the head of the district education department, although the then-minister Elvira Sarieva explained that the children were waiting for the delegation outside.
A similar case occurred in 2022 in Osh during the opening of the mini-football field of FC "Alay." In the video, young athletes stood in the cold in light uniforms, listening to welcoming remarks. The city administration justified itself by stating that the children were wearing thermal underwear; however, the strong reaction on social media led to the initiation of an investigation.
Internet users note that these recurring situations indicate systemic problems and a pressing need to rethink approaches to organizing official events.
