Massive strikes against targets associated with the "Islamic State" group were carried out by the United States and its allies. This was reported by the Central Command of the U.S. Armed Forces (Centcom) in an official release.
President Donald Trump ordered the strikes on January 10. These actions were part of an operation called "Hawkeye strike" and were a response to the tragic attack carried out by ISIS on American servicemen on December 13, as stated in the Centcom press release.

The command emphasized that the strikes were aimed at combating terrorism and protecting American and allied forces in the region.

"We remain resolute: if you threaten our soldiers, we will find you and eliminate you anywhere in the world, regardless of how you try to evade justice," Centcom noted.

During the operation, more than 90 precision-guided munitions were used to strike over 35 targets, involving more than 20 aircraft.

As of now, the locations of the strikes and the number of possible casualties have not been specified.
