Explosions Occurred in Several Cities in Iran: There Are Dead and Injured
According to state television, one person died as a result of this incident, and 14 others were injured.
Additionally, the Iranian agency Mehr reports an explosion in a residential complex in the city of Ahvaz in the southwest of the country, where, according to unconfirmed reports, four people were killed. The head of the local fire and rescue service indicated that the cause was a gas leak.
There have also been reports in the media of explosions in the cities of Parandeh and Tabriz, but there has been no official confirmation of this information yet.
Social media has circulated rumors of an assassination attempt on the commander of the naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Alireza Tangsiri, in Bandar Abbas, but Iranian media have denied these claims. The Mehr agency reported that "an informed source denied the rumors of such an assassination." Similar information was confirmed by Tasnim.
Israeli representatives stated that their country has no connection to these explosions, as reported by Channel 12 of Israeli television.
It is worth noting that against the backdrop of deteriorating relations with the United States, the Iranian Armed Forces have been placed on "full defensive and combat readiness." The commander of the ground forces, Amir Hatami, warned that "any step by the enemy could jeopardize its security, as well as the security of the region and the Zionist regime."
Tensions between Washington and Tehran have increased following recent threats from U.S. President Donald Trump, who on January 30 threatened new military actions if Iran refused to sign a new deal regarding its nuclear program.
