Mongolia has started exporting goat meat to Vietnam

The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Mongolia, Nguyen Duan Thanh, was received by the President's Advisor on Foreign Policy, Odbayar Erdenetsogt. This was reported by MiddleAsianNews.

During the meeting, issues that were agreed upon during the visits of the President of Mongolia, Khurelsukh Ukhna, to Vietnam in 2023 and President To Lam to Mongolia in 2024 were discussed. During these visits, numerous documents concerning bilateral relations and cooperation were signed.

As part of cooperation in agriculture and the food industry, Mongolia exported 100 tons of goat meat to Vietnam last year.

Ambassador Nguyen Duan Thanh noted that Vietnamese producers have started producing four types of products from goat meat imported from Mongolia.

During the discussions, steps to activate the implementation of the agreed work plan, which will be carried out after the visit, as well as deepening cooperation in trade, economy, culture, and education were also discussed.

Goat meat obtained from domestic goats (Capra hircus) is one of the most popular types of meat in Mongolia. This dietary product is characterized by low calorie content and high protein and amino acid levels, making it suitable for various cooking methods.

In terms of taste, goat meat is comparable to lamb, having a moderately salty flavor, unlike the sweet taste of beef. Young goat meat has a light, pale pink color, while the meat from older animals has a brick-red hue and darkens in the air. Goat fat is pure white in color.

Goat meat is also a rich source of B vitamins, as well as pantothenic, folic, and para-aminobenzoic acids, and choline. It significantly exceeds the meat of other livestock in terms of vitamins A, B1, and B2 content.
