As reported by The Independent, this statement was made on February 27 during a press conference before Trump's departure to Texas.

The President of the United States expressed interest in reaching an agreement with Iran regarding its nuclear program; however, in response to a question about the possibility of using military force, he noted that in extreme cases such measures might become necessary, although he would prefer to avoid that.

This week, negotiations took place in Geneva between Washington and Tehran, marking the third round of talks mediated by Oman since the dialogue resumed earlier this month.

Not long ago, Iran suspended movement in the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global oil trade, to conduct military exercises.

Trump previously set a deadline of 10-15 days to reach an agreement on the nuclear program, warning that otherwise "bad things will happen." To increase pressure on Iran, the U.S. has bolstered its military presence in the region, including the deployment of additional air and naval forces.

Washington demands that Iran completely cease uranium enrichment and address issues related to its ballistic missile program, as well as its support for groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Yemeni Houthis. In response, Tehran insists that negotiations should focus exclusively on the nuclear program.
