In an interview, Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that the United Kingdom is not participating in the strikes by the United States and Israel against Iran, insisting that the conflict should be resolved through diplomatic means. However, Iran's actions pose a threat to London and its allies in the region.

Starmer noted that British military aircraft are already involved in defensive operations and intercepting Iranian attacks. He added that to eliminate the threat, it is necessary to destroy missiles at their storage and launch sites.

“The U.S. has requested permission to use British bases for this specific and limited defensive operation. We have decided to grant this request,” he said.

The Prime Minister also emphasized that the United Kingdom is not joining the strikes but continues to conduct defensive actions in the region.

Additionally, London plans to involve Ukrainian experts to assist Gulf countries in combating Iranian drones.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed Kyiv's readiness to share experience in countering missile and drone attacks, emphasizing that even highly developed countries with powerful air defense systems face difficulties in protection.

“We are ready to share this experience and help those nations that supported Ukraine,” he noted.

It is worth reminding that on February 28, a large-scale military operation against Iran was initiated by the U.S. and Israel. As a result of these strikes, reports indicate the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several high-ranking military officials.

In response, Iran attacked Israel and facilities in Gulf countries where American forces are stationed, and announced the establishment of a temporary governing body following Khamenei's death.
