- Muratbek Imankulov, Deputy Chairman of the Antimonopoly Regulation Service under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, announced plans to create a network of social stores as part of efforts to stabilize prices for essential goods. He shared this information in a radio interview.

He noted that after the introduction of state price controls on meat, the agency, in collaboration with the Presidential Administration, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Bishkek Mayor's Office, and law enforcement agencies, conducted monitoring and raids. As a result of these activities, proposals were developed to introduce additional measures.

“We proposed the opening of social stores in every district of Bishkek, as well as in major populated areas across the country. These stores have already begun operations, allowing farmers to sell their products directly, often at prices below the established ones,” Imankulov explained.

He also provided specific examples: at a fair in the Kadamjai district of the Batken region, meat was sold for 650 soms per kilogram. In Bishkek, at the initiative of the Lenin District Administration, a social store was opened at the intersection of Kyivskaya and Kuliev streets, where beef is available for 660 soms. Similar outlets are also operating at the "Dordoy" market and in the Oktyabrsky district of the capital, and mobile stores have been launched.

“If prices for meat are higher at the markets, consumers can take advantage of such social stores,” he added.

Additionally, a mini meat processing plant was opened in the village of Baytik, which began operations at the end of 2025. According to Imankulov, similar enterprises are planned to be established in other regions, including Balakchy, as well as in major areas and districts.

The Deputy Chairman also mentioned prices for fuel and lubricants, noting that they have decreased by 4-5 soms recently.

“This has been made possible through agreements with the Association of Oil Traders and major fuel suppliers. We continue monitoring to avoid shortages and unjustified price increases,” he reported.

Regarding gas prices, Imankulov indicated that this issue falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Energy; however, the antimonopoly authority will continue to inform the relevant structures.
