In Bishkek, there is ongoing monitoring of prices for essential food products, including beef and lamb, according to information provided by the press service of the city administration.

“This monitoring is conducted in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, dated August 7, 2025, under number 140, which introduces temporary state regulation of prices for meat products (beef and lamb, excluding boneless meat),” the statement notes.

The Sverdlovsk, Pervomaisky, Lenin, and Oktyabrsky district administrations, together with representatives of antimonopoly regulation, veterinary services, and tax authorities, regularly carry out monitoring and raids in the markets and retail outlets of the capital.

Inspections are conducted at markets such as “Osh Bazaar,” “Orto-Say,” “Alamedin,” “Dordoy,” “Aziz,” as well as in stores “Market,” “Globus,” “Asia,” and other trading facilities.

During the monitoring process, explanatory work is carried out with entrepreneurs and sellers regarding the inadmissibility of unjustified price increases and the necessity to comply with maximum retail prices, which should not exceed 680 soms per kilogram of beef and lamb.

Additionally, measures are discussed to expand the trade in meat products at socially acceptable prices, including allocating places for trading without intermediaries and opening new sales points.

Starting from January 14, 2026, wholesale meat trading at the Osh market will cease, and a new meat pavilion “Chüygün” has been opened at the livestock market “Altyn-Taka,” which meets all sanitary and veterinary requirements and is intended for wholesale meat sales. Currently, wholesale sales are conducted in this pavilion.

Retail meat sales are also available in the same area at the pavilion “Taza Adal Et,” where local residents can purchase quality and safe products.

At present, the current wholesale prices for meat are: lamb - 640–680 soms, beef - 640–680 soms, horse meat - 540–560 soms. Retail prices start from 660 soms.

It should be noted that raids and price monitoring are conducted on an ongoing basis.”
