Torobaev carefully examined the trade rows and communicated with the fair participants. He inquired with beekeepers about their readiness for new export opportunities, reminding them that Kyrgyzstan now has the right to sell honey to European Union countries. In a conversation with a farmer from Batken, who brought dried fruits to the capital at reasonable prices, the minister discussed what is needed for organizing deep processing and the production of natural pastille in remote areas.
The price of meat products also became a topic of discussion. At the fair, the price of beef and lamb ranged from 600 to 680 soms per kilogram. In an interview with journalists, Torobaev emphasized the importance of such venues for stabilizing the domestic market.
According to him, "fairs provide a direct link between the producer and the consumer. There are no intermediaries here, which eliminates unnecessary markups and helps control price increases."
The minister also clarified the concept of the event: "The fair is not an ordinary market. Buyers here receive products at the producer's price, which includes only the cost of production and logistics. This allows farmers to earn and city dwellers to save."
Right from the event, Torobaev connected with regions via video link to check how similar fairs were going on across the country. Based on the monitoring results, he gave clear instructions to the heads of territorial divisions: to ensure price stability, improve conditions at the venues, and create comfortable conditions for the population.
However, efforts to ensure affordable meat will not be limited to fairs alone. The minister announced the opening of mobile meat shops and a special trading point in Naryn. Additionally, to support sheep meat production, plans are in place to allocate additional land for creating a feed base for animals.
Support for domestic producers and price control on essential products remain priority tasks for the Ministry of Agriculture. Torobaev emphasized that only through direct dialogue with farmers and eliminating unnecessary links in trade can quality and affordable products be ensured for the people of Kyrgyzstan.
