The head of the veterinary and sanitary safety department of the veterinary service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Tilek Tabaldiev, shared information about the rules for controlling the export and import of animal products on the radio.

Tabaldiev noted that there are 19 veterinary laboratories operating in Kyrgyzstan, two of which have already received accreditation in accordance with international standards. He emphasized that mandatory safety testing is required for product export. Only after receiving laboratory confirmation is a veterinary certificate issued.

The main research is conducted in laboratories located in Bishkek and Osh. Due to new technical regulation requirements, the process of re-accreditation of laboratories has begun in the country, which is expected to be completed by mid-year.

Additionally, Tabaldiev announced the start of preparations for the construction of a new veterinary phytosanitary laboratory funded by China. Currently, the Chinese side is organizing a tender, after which construction is expected to commence.

Regarding imports, all products brought into the country are accompanied by permit documents and undergo veterinary control at the border. Upon arrival in the customs clearance zone, a document check, physical control, and laboratory tests are conducted. Only after confirming safety does the product receive a veterinary certificate from the Customs Union, which allows for its sale.

In case of detection of hazardous substances or exceeding permissible limits, the products are subject to disposal or destruction depending on the results of the analyses.
