Talgarbek Izyakanov: Kyrgyzstan needs a soil science institute

In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, an agro-dialogue was held, initiated by the deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, Mahabat Mavlyanova, where specialists discussed the possibilities of transitioning the country to organic farming. One of the main proposals put forward at the meeting was the creation of a specialized scientific research institute of soil science.

This statement was made by Talgarbek Izyakanov, head of the Department of Soil Science, Agrochemistry, and Agriculture at the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University (KNAU) and a candidate of agricultural sciences. He noted that such events are extremely important for the agricultural sector, as they contribute to the integration of theoretical and practical knowledge. According to the scientist, organic agriculture is not limited to the rejection of chemical fertilizers; it is also a path to responsible production and the preservation of fertile lands for future generations.

In his speech, Izyakanov addressed serious issues related to soil degradation and the deterioration of crop quality. He also reported that the KNAU department is actively engaged in research in this area and is preparing specialists in environmentally safe agro-technologies. Students study courses such as "Organic Farming" and "Ecological Agriculture" under the guidance of experienced instructors.

In conclusion, the scientist, representing the Society of Soil Scientists, emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach from the state in managing the country's resources. He expressed hope that the establishment of a specialized research institute of soil science and the strengthening of cooperation between farmers, scientists, and businesses would help Kyrgyzstan make significant progress in developing the organic sector and ensuring environmental safety for the population.
