Marketplaces are taking market share from offline sales. The closure of borders with Russia on September 15 led to an increase in logistics costs: the cost of cargo rose from 50 to 200 soms. Major retail chains, such as 'Sadovy' and 'Lyublyano', lack locally produced goods, as they have moved online," the entrepreneur added.
He also mentioned that Tatyana Kim, the founder of Wildberries, was welcomed in Kyrgyzstan by former Prime Minister Akylbek Japarov, who promised to allocate land for a logistics center. However, after that, Kim went to Uzbekistan, where the necessary documents were quickly signed, and now a distribution center covering 100,000 square meters is being built on the outskirts of Tashkent, which will be launched this year. "While we were inactive, Uzbekistan seized the opportunity. We still have a chance, as we are in the Customs Union, unlike them," noted Kerimbek uulu.
