The head of 'Bishkekglavarkhitektura' spoke about the priorities and tasks of the new general plan

The general plan is a strategic document that outlines the development of Bishkek for the next 25 years. This document covers key aspects related to improving infrastructure, providing for the population, and enhancing the quality of life in the capital. This was stated by Mederbek Kydyrmaev, head of the State Institution 'Bishkekglavarkhitektura', in an interview with the 'Kabar' agency.

According to him, the previous general plan was adopted in 2006, and its validity will expire in December 2025. Currently, the city of Bishkek is the main customer of the new general plan, and the city hall has initiated work on its update.

The development of the new general plan is being carried out by a research institute from St. Petersburg. As a result of the administrative-territorial reforms conducted in 2024-2025, the area of Bishkek has tripled, with new settlements and residential areas included in the city.

"Work on the general plan has already begun, and the institute has conducted a significant number of analytical studies. Special websites have been created in the city, and surveys have been conducted among citizens. Official requests have also been sent to the ministry, based on which key problems of the capital have been identified and main directions for the future general plan have been developed," Kydyrmaev added.

He emphasized that among the main tasks of the new general plan are addressing traffic congestion, improving the ecological situation, eliminating the shortage of social facilities, and developing transport infrastructure. The general plan will serve as the basis for creating conditions that contribute to solving the city's pressing problems.
