GKNB refutes rumors of confrontation between law enforcement agencies amid checks of former employees

The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (GKNB) has refuted circulating rumors about a confrontation between the country's law enforcement agencies, which allegedly arose against the backdrop of checks on former employees.

The press service of the GKNB emphasized that some sources intentionally present information as evidence of conflict between various state bodies; however, these claims are unfounded and aimed at undermining public trust in government institutions.

It was reported that, at the direction of the President of Kyrgyzstan, the Military Prosecutor's Office, in cooperation with the Main Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, conducted a series of investigative activities regarding certain former GKNB employees suspected of abusing their official powers during their service.

The GKNB noted that all actions were carried out strictly in accordance with current legislation and in compliance with all necessary procedural norms, and the committee's leadership was timely informed about the ongoing activities.

As a result of the conducted checks, serious personnel decisions were made: individuals who committed violations were dismissed from their positions and excluded from the national security agencies. Materials on the identified facts were forwarded for further legal analysis in the established manner.

The agency emphasized that state bodies consistently follow a course aimed at strengthening legality and preventing corrupt actions. The GKNB stressed that every employee is accountable for their actions before the law, regardless of their position.

Furthermore, it was noted that all law enforcement and security agencies operate within the framework of the law and in close cooperation, focusing on common goals for ensuring national security and stability in the country.

“Attempts to create the appearance of conflict between agencies are destructive and aimed at destabilizing the socio-political situation,” the agency's statement said.
The GKNB urged citizens, journalists, and public activists to rely on official sources of information and to remain calm.

The committee promised to continue its work to protect the interests of the state and society, ensuring legality and security on the territory of the country. It was also noted that there are no untouchables within the system of state bodies, and the work to cleanse the ranks of dishonest employees will continue.
