In Kyrgyzstan, measures are being taken to prevent the possible importation of various infectious diseases. This was reported on the air of "Birinchi Radio" by the country's chief sanitary doctor and deputy minister of health, Ryspek Sydygaliev.

He noted that the Republican Center for the Prevention and Control of Particularly Dangerous Infections operates under the Ministry of Health, which has already organized sanitary quarantine points at the borders with third countries.

“In the event of outbreaks of quarantine infections, temporary sanitary points may be established with Kazakhstan. The situation at the end of 2025 showed that there were no outbreaks of diseases such as plague, anthrax, and rabies. However, other infections were under the control of our sanitary services,” he added.

The deputy minister also reminded that a draft resolution of the cabinet of ministers concerning the sanitary protection of the territory of Kyrgyzstan and the plan for anti-epidemic measures for 2026–2030 had previously been presented. This project envisages strengthening control at all international transport routes and border crossing points.

The document provides for tightening sanitary and quarantine control.
Sydygaliev also reported that quarantine points were repaired and equipped thanks to the assistance of donors and the state budget during the coronavirus pandemic. Training activities are planned for all ministries that operate at the entry points into the country. The emergence of new infections requires special control, and therefore it is necessary to update existing documents to enhance readiness for potential threats.

According to him, there is currently a clear algorithm of actions for train chiefs and aircraft commanders in the event of identifying infectious patients. For example, the "Manas" airport has two isolation rooms for people with elevated temperatures, and boxed wards have been created for patients in the infectious disease hospital.

Kubanychbek Bekturdiyev, head of the epidemiology department of the Republican Center, added that the importation of infections into Kyrgyzstan can occur through goods, animals, birds, and people.

“The pandemic of influenza and cholera continues, and on top of that, the coronavirus infection is layered, and new diseases are emerging. Recently, cases of Rocky Mountain spotted fever have been recorded in Kyrgyzstan. This indicates that there may be many challenges,” noted Bekturdiyev.

He emphasized that the comprehensive action plan includes several key areas, such as:
