Turmush — The city of Manas in the Jalal-Abad region received 128 quotas this year as part of the implementation of the "social contract" program.
This information was announced by Nazira Jakypova, head of the city department of labor, social security, and migration.
She noted that the acceptance of applications from citizens has now begun.
“The quotas were allocated earlier than in previous years. To date, 16 people have approached our office, of which the working group has accepted applications from 14 citizens with business plans. Currently, financial literacy training is being conducted for these individuals. Last year, Manas also received about 130 quotas, and we successfully implemented them,” added N. Jakypova.
- More than 3,000 low-income families live in Manas, of which 1,137 belong to the category of extremely poor.
The initiative "Strengthening Social Assistance and Labor Market Programs," funded by the International Development Association (World Bank Group), has a loan of $30 million and aims to mitigate the impact of the economic crisis affecting the purchasing power of the population. It includes the creation of jobs for families in difficult life situations, as well as for groups facing challenges in finding work. The project also includes measures to improve the social protection system, which should enhance the effectiveness of support for target groups and develop professional skills, expanding employment opportunities for vulnerable youth.
The loan is provided for 50 years at zero interest.
The social contract strategy is aimed at low-income and needy families both in the republic and in Bishkek (recipients of "uy-bulogo komok"). Social assistance is provided based on the social contract — previously the amount was 100,000 soms, and it has now been increased to 150,000 soms.
