A new regional hospital construction has begun
During his working trip to the Issyk-Kul region, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Adylbek Kasymaiev, familiarized himself with the condition of several medical institutions, as reported by the government press service.
During the visit, he toured the regional unified hospital in Karakol, the main building of which was constructed in 1968 and is designed for 550 beds. Kasymaiev inspected the intensive care and surgical departments, as well as reviewed the available medical equipment and the conditions in which patients are treated.
Additionally, during the visit, he was presented with a project for a new hospital building with 350 beds. Construction work is set to begin in 2024, and it is expected that the new complex will consist of eight blocks. The completion of construction is planned for 2027.
As a result of the visit, Kasymaiev instructed to provide housing for young doctors working at the hospital under the state mortgage program, as well as to consider the possibility of building service housing for medical staff.
The chairman of the cabinet also visited the anti-plague department of the Center for Control and Prevention of Especially Dangerous and Quarantine Infections. The building of this institution was constructed in 1894, and its laboratory facilities do not meet modern biological safety standards. As a result of the visit, relevant authorities were instructed to consider the issue of constructing a new building and updating the material and technical base of the institution.
