January 14, 2026, will be an important date for Kyrgyzstan, as it marks the 32nd anniversary of the adoption of the State Emblem, which is one of the main symbols of the country's independence and sovereignty.

The emblem was officially approved on January 14, 1994, by a decision of the Jogorku Kenesh, more than two years after Kyrgyzstan became independent. The creators of the emblem are artists Asein Abdrayev and Sadyrbek Dubanaev.

According to information from official sources, the selection of the main state symbol took place in a highly competitive environment. A total of 2,234 sketches were submitted for the competition, and a special commission consisting of 21 deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh was created to evaluate them. The final version of the emblem was chosen after lengthy discussions.

The emblem is executed in the traditional blue color, which holds deep significance for Turkic peoples, symbolizing purity, peace, and the sky. In the center of the emblem is a white falcon (ak shumkar) with its wings spread, symbolizing freedom, independence, and the aspiration for the future. The background of the emblem includes Lake Issyk-Kul, the Ala-Too mountain ranges, and a rising sun, emphasizing the country's natural wealth and its eternity.

Surrounding the emblem are images of wheat and cotton, which symbolize the hard work of the population and the agricultural traditions of the republic. At the top of the emblem, it reads "Kyrgyz," and at the bottom, "Republic."

The State Emblem, along with the flag and anthem, represents an important element of statehood, reflecting the historical path, values, and national identity of the Kyrgyz Republic.
