In the Tyup District, 1.5-meter snowdrifts formed after the snowfall — road workers reported on the situation

In some areas of the Tyup district in the Issyk-Kul region, the snow cover reached up to 1.5 meters after a recent snowfall.

According to Adilet Kambarbek uulu, the head of the road maintenance enterprise No. 35, the roads in the Jeti-Oguz district have been cleared. In particular, sections of the highway Shalba–Lipenka–Zhon-Bulak between the villages of Kabak and Lipenka, as well as between Lipenka and Ichke-Bulun, were cleared, where the snow layer reached 30–40 cm. Additionally, snow clearing and spreading of inert materials were carried out on the section of the highway Jeti-Oguz–Koysary from 0 to 15 km.

In the Ak-Suu district, similar activities were conducted on the highway Balıkchy–Ananievo–Karakol (207–216 km), as well as on the section Karakol–Pristan (0–11 km). On the road Boz-Bulun–Kara-Jal, efforts were made to eliminate snow drifts, where in some places the snow height reached 80 cm.

“We have temporarily transferred the maintenance of the roads in the Tyup district. On the highway Mikhailovka–Nikolaevka–Toktoyan–Sary-Tologoy, a severe snowstorm was observed on the section from 46 to 82 km from January 16 to 18, 2026. Snow clearing is carried out around the clock, and in some places, snow drifts reach 1.5 meters. Additionally, 13 km of the highway Dolon–Kosh-Dobo–Sary-Dobo–Min-Bulak–Aral and 7 km of the section Kara-Suu–Tasma–Chong-Toguzbay have been cleared,” he noted.
