According to drivers, many people at the Osh regional office of the State Agency for Vehicle Registration and Driver Licensing are forced to wait several days for their turn. If they are unable to complete the procedure in one day, they have to return and take their place in line again the next day.
Deputy Director of the State Center for Vehicle Registration and Driver Licensing Tolubai Dzhakyshev reported that due to the influx of applications nationwide, the central database sometimes struggles with the load. On average, about 6,000 citizens approach the service daily in Kyrgyzstan, and with a sudden increase in the flow, the system malfunctions.
Additionally, some medical certificates for drivers are not displayed in digital format, requiring manual verification of data. Although information regarding the canceled certificate form 083 should also be checked in the database, this increases the processing time for applications.
In response to the situation, the working hours of employees have been temporarily extended, and citizens are being received until 1:00 AM. Once the process stabilizes, a return to the regular schedule is planned.
From January 15 to February 15, free replacement of driver's licenses is provided. The question of extending this period has not yet been definitively resolved. The agency emphasizes that the allotted time for exchanges is sufficient and that technical issues are being addressed by specialists.
