The Ministry of Energy denied rolling blackouts in Kyrgyzstan

Nevertheless, "regulatory measures" have been introduced in the country.

Yesterday, during a session of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Minister of Energy Altynbek Rysbekov stated that rolling blackouts are not being used in Kyrgyzstan.

This statement was made in response to a question from Deputy Mahabat Mavlyanova, who raised the issue of frequent power outages in the Nookat district.

Rysbekov clarified: "Rolling blackouts are not practiced. However, due to the low water level in the Toktogul reservoir, measures to regulate electricity consumption have been introduced since November. During morning and evening hours, the power available to the population has been temporarily reduced from 5 kW to 3 kW," he added.
