Sadyr Japarov met with Ghana's Foreign Minister Samuel Ablakwa

During the meeting, issues concerning the strengthening of bilateral cooperation and future areas of interaction that are of mutual interest to both countries were discussed.

President Japarov noted that, despite the significant distance between Kyrgyzstan and Ghana, the republic is interested in deepening ties both on a bilateral basis and in multilateral formats.

The head of state also emphasized active efforts to establish partnerships with African countries. In particular, he mentioned the recent opening of the Kyrgyz embassy in Ethiopia and plans to open a diplomatic representation in Egypt in the near future.

Furthermore, in February of this year, Kyrgyzstan obtained observer status in the African Union, which opens new opportunities for cooperation within this organization, especially during Ghana's presidency in 2027.

Samuel Ablakwa, for his part, conveyed greetings from Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama and invited Japarov to visit Ghana next year to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the country's independence and the upcoming presidency in the African Union.

The minister also highly praised the reforms being carried out in Kyrgyzstan, including efforts to combat corruption and protect national interests, especially in the context of the "Kumtor" situation. He highlighted construction, digitalization, tourism, and the agro-industrial complex as key areas for further cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed hope that the visit of Ghana's Foreign Minister would mark the beginning of a new era in the development of friendly and business relations between Kyrgyzstan and Ghana.
