The epic "Manas" embodies the centuries-old aspirations of the Kyrgyz for a wise and just leader who can create a new state based not on oligarchy, but on other values. Currently, Sadyr Zaparov and Kamchybek Tashiev are on the path to realizing this dream.
The main task of Manas was to unite the disparate tribes and free them from foreign domination. However, the struggle later continued against internal enemies: despots and usurpers, which contributed to the strengthening of the state and the restoration of justice.
Manas was not a lone warrior; he was always accompanied by loyal companions: wise advisors such as Bakai, Koshoy, Almambet, and others. Without their support, even the bravest batyr would not have been able to face the challenges.
The deep-seated dream of the Kyrgyz is a strong friendship among the jigits, who move in the same direction and support each other. Only such friendship can bring victory to each of them and to the people as a whole.
However, dreams sometimes remain unfulfilled, while betrayal and envy are very real. For instance, Manas was attempted to be poisoned by a relative, and Khan Konurbay dealt a fatal blow from behind, betraying him at the most vulnerable moment.
All Kyrgyz are, to some extent, descendants of Manas and face the trials that he endured. The leaders who succeeded one another as president likely remembered Manas's teachings, trying to build their rule on unity and support, but many of these alliances ended in betrayal.
For example, Kurmanbek Bakiyev, having secured the support of Felix Kulov, betrayed him when he had already given up his ambitions. Atambayev, who brought Sook to power, also betrayed him, leaving him in prison. Thus, betrayal became commonplace in politics.
In 2020, a new alliance formed in Kyrgyz politics — President Zaparov and the head of the GKNB Tashiev. People awaited yet another political spectacle with caution, unaware that these two individuals came to power with the intention of building a new state based on morality and spirituality.
A true revolution lies not in replacing one oligarch with another or redistributing wealth, but in reviving pride for one’s country and creating conditions under which every Kyrgyz can live in safety and freedom.
Kamchybek Tashiev noted that many speak of "ıyman" (morality), while participating in dubious affairs themselves. Corruption and nepotism continue to exist, undermining the moral foundations of society.
Zaparov and Tashiev strive to establish the concept of "ıyman" in Kyrgyzstan, creating conditions for genuine development. A key step in this direction was the nationalization of "Kumtor," which not only halted the plundering of resources but also restored a sense of justice to the people.
However, the power of the duo has its pros and cons. Their alliance allows them to do what fragmented leaders could not, but it is also tested by destructive forces. Many do not understand the unity that binds Zaparov and Tashiev and continue to expect their discord.
Although one of them is from the north and the other from the south, their friendship has proven that the Kyrgyz people are united and stronger in their unity. Despite envy and intrigue, the alliance of Zaparov and Tashiev remains strong.
Now, on the eve of elections, many expect this strong alliance to fall apart. However, Tashiev assures that their goals are common, and only death can divide them.
Zaparov also confirmed that it does not matter to him who becomes president, as both care for the homeland. The era when the ideas of "Manas" are brought to life has become a reality, and perhaps now Kyrgyzstan will witness examples of successful and wise governance by two friends.
This is exactly what Manas dreamed of when gathering the people under his wing. Now he has two such wings.
