In the documentary film "President," created by journalist Aibek Biibosun uulu, President Sadyr Japarov shared his memories of the events that took place in October 2020.
He noted that he felt support from the people. While in detention, his associates and party allies conveyed information about the mood of the people to him. Japarov also mentioned that he read numerous comments on social media expressing trust in him.
Kamchybek Tashiev emphasized that the morning of October 6 became an important moment in their memory, as on that day they first reached out to the people after a long time. This day marked the beginning of a new era.
Sadyr Japarov also pointed out the high risk of destabilization, as "third forces" continued to operate in the country.
According to him: "The period from October 6 to 16 felt like an eternity to me. External forces were urging to keep Sooronbay Jeenbekov in the position of president, while I was offered to become the prime minister. They said that after that there would be new elections, and Jeenbekov would leave. I refused, as I understood: if Jeenbekov had stayed then, he could have remained forever, and I would have had to leave in two or three months," he said.
The president did not specify who exactly made such an offer.
