Kyrgyzstan is looking for ways to bring top medical professionals back home

The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan has launched a large-scale project to engage with compatriot medical professionals who have achieved significant success in medical institutions in the USA, Germany, the UK, Russia, and the Middle East. During an online conference organized by Deputy Ministers Bakytbek Kadyraliev and Temirbek Erkinov, participants discussed how to leverage international experience to reform the healthcare system in the country.

The discussion touched on not only issues of digitalization and the implementation of modern diagnostic technologies, such as NGS and advanced bronchoscopy, but also the need for deep transformation in key areas of medicine, including oncology, transplantology, and the development of mobile medical services. Foreign experts shared their ideas on how to simplify the licensing process and elevate the training of medical professionals to international standards.

Significant attention was given to the problem of the shortage of medical personnel. Diplomat doctors expressed their readiness not only to consult but also to actively participate in the training of local specialists: conducting master classes, performing complex surgeries, and organizing internships in leading medical institutions worldwide. In response, the Ministry of Health promised to develop platforms for such cooperation, including lectures within the framework of the Mirrakhimov programs and creating conditions for the return of medical specialists to Kyrgyzstan.

In conclusion, Bakytbek Kadyraliev noted that attracting the intellectual potential of the diaspora is a strategic priority for the state. The government recognizes the shortage of qualified personnel as one of the key issues and is ready to implement practical measures to ensure that the knowledge and technologies acquired by our medical professionals abroad benefit patients in Kyrgyzstan. The ministry's plans include simplifying the participation of foreign specialists in the scientific and clinical life of the country, creating opportunities for knowledge transfer and potential repatriation of specialists.
