On February 19, the Pervomaisky District Court in Bishkek made a decision to detain Nurgazy Anarkulov. Confirmation of this information was published by the court's press service on February 20 in the AKIpress summary.

He is accused of organizing and preparing for mass riots under Articles 41 part 2, 36, and 278 part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Anarkulov will remain in custody in pre-trial detention center No. 1 until April 10.

It is believed that Anarkulov has close ties with the former head of the State National Security Committee, Kamchybek Tashiev.

On February 9, information appeared on social media and in the media about a letter signed by 75 citizens, which was sent to President Sadyr Japarov and then-Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu. The letter contained a request for the immediate organization of new presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan, and among the signatories were scholars, former prime ministers, ex-deputies, and public figures.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that some provisions of this appeal caused "widespread discussion among the population and exacerbated the socio-political situation in the country."

On February 11, figures such as the coordinator of the "People's Parliament" and former head of the Prime Minister's Office, Bekbolot Talgarbekov, former ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan, Emilbek Uzakbaev, former presidential representative in the Jogorku Kenesh, Kurmanbek Dyykanbaev, former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Kursan Asanov, and ex-deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, Aaly Karashe, were detained.
