Turkey linked Iran's stability to regional security

Key security issues were discussed at the meeting of Turkey's National Security Council, including the situation in Gaza, Syria, and Ukraine.


At a recent meeting of Turkey's National Security Council led by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, it was emphasized that Iran's stability plays a crucial role for security in the region. This was stated in an official announcement published by TRT.

During the discussion, recent developments concerning Iran were examined in detail, and it was noted that its stability is critically important for ensuring security in neighboring countries. The participants also discussed the current situation in Gaza and the possibilities for establishing a ceasefire.

Turkey confirmed its readiness to take responsibility for the reconstruction of Gaza's infrastructure in cooperation with international partners and to continue providing humanitarian assistance. The authorities expressed their intention to promote the achievement of sustainable peace in this region.

The Council reiterated its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria, as well as its intention to continue working to ensure security and stability for the Syrian people.

Additionally, issues related to the fight against terrorism, the current situation in Ukraine, and maintaining stability in the Black Sea were discussed. The statement emphasizes that Turkey will continue its multilateral efforts in 2026 to preserve peace and stability in the vast region encompassing neighboring countries, as well as Asia, Africa, and Europe.
