Mongols and Indians — Blood Brothers

The connection between Mongols and Native Americans is not limited to genetics but also encompasses linguistic aspects.

An international team of geneticists, exploring over a century of assumptions, has clearly established that the Aztecs, Incas, and Iroquois are closely related to the peoples of Mongolia.

The theory of migration of Mongols from Siberia through Chukotka and Alaska to Tierra del Fuego emerged nearly a hundred years ago. The famous Mongolian writer Tüdev Lodon, originally from Altai, noted that many similar words and phrases can be found in the languages of Mongols and Native Americans. For instance, the Peruvian city of Cusco resembles the Mongolian "Хүйс," which translates to "navel" or center of the earth. Interestingly, the word "Cusco" in the Quechua language also means "Navel of the Earth."

Tüdev Lodon also pointed out that Incan dictionaries contain words that sound similar and have related meanings. For example, ayul - ail (village or neighbors), kuks - хүүхс (which in colloquial Mongolian means "children"). He also discovered that the word "auki" in Quechua is identical to the Mongolian "агь," which translates to "prince" or son of a king.

Five Aleutian Islands have names derived from the Mongolian language. For example, Ataka-Adag (mouth of the river), Atka-Atga (handful), Ikanud- Их Нуд (big eyes), Ikanutak-Их Нутаг or Эх Нутаг (Homeland), Ushka-Уушиг (lungs). This was mentioned by the Mongolian scholar Jambaldorj Sumyaa.

Interestingly, the indigenous people of the Aleutian Islands call themselves "unangan" or "унаган." This word has a purely Mongolian origin and translates to "indigenous." For example, Mongolians say: "Би унаган монгол" — "I am an indigenous Mongolian."

In 2013, two respected scientific journals, Nature and Science, published studies dedicated to the analysis of the complete genomes of Native Americans and their Mongolian and Siberian relatives. The first study included 48 individuals from Brazil, while the second study covered 31 genomes of peoples from the USA, Mongolia, and Siberia.

The results of these studies confirm that the ancestors of Native Americans migrated from Mongolia and Siberia approximately 20,000-30,000 years ago. Scientists have confidently established that Native Americans have close ties with the peoples of Mongolia and Altai. However, another discovery was made during the research: "Some Native Americans also demonstrated a mysterious connection with the indigenous peoples of Australia and Melanesia," noted Russian geneticist Oleg Balanovsky.

Scientists have already figured out how migration to America occurred from Mongolia and Altai. "30,000 years ago, instead of the Bering Strait, there was an isthmus, as during the Ice Age, much of the water was frozen in glaciers and the sea level was lower," explained Dr. Balanovsky.

However, it remains unclear how exactly migration from Australia and Melanesia to America occurred: whether it was direct across the ocean or along the coast through the Aleutian Islands. Archaeologists continue to study this question.
