As part of this program, new rules have been approved that define classification and rating standards for hotel and tourism services in accordance with the Tourism Law. The main goal of these standards is to improve the quality and accessibility of services in line with international norms, as well as to create conditions for providing government subsidies and stimulating foreign investments in this sector.
Officials noted that the development of the rules took place with the active participation of stakeholders: six roundtable discussions were held with participants from the tourism business, whose suggestions were incorporated into the final document. Additionally, the draft rules were published on the website of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism, and Youth for public discussion.
The updated rules now allow for the establishment of categories for a wider variety of activities, including tourist complexes, hotels, and resorts. Unlike the previous rules, which were primarily focused on elite hotels, the new rating system aims to enhance the quality and competitiveness of the tourism industry in anticipation of the set goals for 2026.
