According to RBK, citing Reuters, General Andersen noted that his focus is not on the USA, but on Russia.

He also reported that there are currently no Chinese or Russian vessels in the Greenland area. However, one Russian research vessel was located 310 nautical miles (approximately 574 km) away.

Andersen pointed out that this was the closest proximity of Russian vessels to the island, adding that NATO is generally well aware of the situation in the region.

The general emphasizes that an increase in Russian activity around Greenland should be expected in the coming years, and Denmark plans to enhance its presence in the Arctic in response to these threats.

He stated: "We need to start preparing and expanding our presence here to protect NATO's northern border."

At the same time, the major general assured that the likelihood of conflict among NATO allies is excluded and that Denmark is working in close coordination with the alliance, maintaining regular cooperation with the American military.
