Bakyt Kadyraliev discussed the training of doctors with students of KGMA

On February 14, a meeting was held at the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after I.K. Akhunbaev, which was attended by Deputy Minister of Health Bakyt Kadyraliev and students in their final years of pre-graduate training.

During the meeting, important issues regarding the professional training of future doctors were discussed, as well as the stages of internship and residency. In particular, emphasis was placed on the need to strengthen the practical component of training starting from the third year, when students begin to study clinical disciplines, by involving experienced doctors as mentors and increasing the time allocated for practical work in medical institutions.

Additionally, Bakyt Kadyraliev announced the plans of the Ministry of Health, according to which 20 graduates will be sent for training in residency in the most in-demand specialties as part of international cooperation. "A mandatory condition for participation in the program is the return of specialists to Kyrgyzstan to work in the healthcare system," the ministry added.

Also, as part of the project "Additional funding for the Operation to improve the quality of primary healthcare," a grant for international experience exchange and training events is provided, which opens up additional opportunities for training in residency abroad with subsequent employment in the country.

Separately, issues of forming a managerial personnel reserve were discussed. Bakyt Kadyraliev urged students studying at the Department of Public Health to undergo internships within the Ministry of Health system to prepare future industry managers.

"The healthcare system needs not only highly qualified clinicians but also competent managers. We are ready to create opportunities for training and international exchange; however, the principle remains unchanged: the knowledge and experience gained must serve the development of healthcare in the Kyrgyz Republic," he emphasized.
