A new preferential lending program for agriculture called "FSH-14" has been approved in Kyrgyzstan, with a total loan portfolio amounting to 2 billion 448 million soms. Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Mirbek Duyshiev announced this on February 11.

The main objective of this program is to provide state support to farmers and dehkans during the spring fieldwork. As Duyshiev noted, funding will be allocated across three main areas: up to 70% of the funds will go to livestock, 20% to crop production, and the remaining 10% to the implementation of water-saving technologies. In monetary terms, this will amount to 1 billion 713 million soms for livestock, 489.6 million soms for crop production, and 244.8 million soms for the development of water-saving technologies.

According to the deputy minister, the volume of funding for the program this year has been slightly reduced compared to the previous year. This is due to the simultaneous launch of six state credit programs that cover financing for breeding livestock, seed production, and nursery farms, as well as for consolidated producers. Additionally, a project for the development of beef cattle farming will begin in Bishkek and the Chui region.

"We have reached an agreement with commercial banks to redistribute funds between programs as needed. This year, we will do our best to provide the population with preferential loans," he added.

Duyshiev emphasized that within the framework of the "FSH-14" program, special attention is given to the implementation of water-saving technologies. "Considering climate changes, it is necessary to adapt farmers to the use of such technologies," he stressed.
