The campaign "Be Responsible!" aims to identify risk factors for non-communicable diseases among men over 18 years old.
As part of this initiative, men are strongly encouraged to sign up for preventive medical consultations at primary healthcare facilities in their place of residence.
The results of the previous campaign were impressive: over 973,000 men across the country underwent screening for non-communicable diseases. High blood pressure was detected in more than 119,600 men (12%). Additionally, 49,600 men (5%) were found to be at high risk for cardiovascular diseases, while about 60,800 men (6%) had a high risk of diabetes.
In 2025, 15,388 individuals were registered with a diagnosis of hypertension and 7,364 individuals with a diagnosis of diabetes. Cardiovascular diseases were responsible for 16,644 deaths among the adult population of Kyrgyzstan in the same year.
The health month was first launched in 2019 as part of the project "Effective Management and Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases in Kyrgyzstan," funded by the Swiss government, and has since been held annually under the supervision of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are chronic diseases that include cardiovascular and oncological diseases, chronic respiratory diseases, and diabetes. The main preventable risk factors include unhealthy diets, smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, and lack of physical activity.
The project "Effective Management and Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases in Kyrgyzstan," supported by the Swiss government, aims to improve the health and quality of life of the country's population by ensuring equal access to quality medical services and promoting a healthy lifestyle throughout Kyrgyzstan.
