In Kyrgyzstan, the possibility of changing legislation that would allow the allocation of land plots on the territory of the president's residence is being discussed. This initiative was announced at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh by the Deputy Director of the State Agency for Land Resources, Cadastre, Geodesy, and Cartography, Jakshylyk Toktosunov. He presented amendments to the law "On Guarantees of the President's Activities and the Status of the Former President."

According to Toktosunov, this draft law was the result of an appeal from the residents of the village of Chon-Aryk to the president. Local residents expressed concern about the lack of educational institutions in their settlement.

“The residents of Chon-Aryk asked to address the problem of the shortage of schools. Given the lack of available land in the village, the president instructed to allocate a plot of 10.48 hectares that belongs to the residence of the head of state,” the official reported.

Currently, existing legislation does not allow for the allocation of land plots on the territory of the state residence, so it is proposed to make the necessary changes.

“Land allocation will be possible if initiated by the cabinet of ministers at the request of the president to meet the social needs of the population. The plot will be transferred to local self-government bodies, where the construction of a school, as well as medical and sports facilities, is planned,” he added.

Several deputies expressed support for the draft law, emphasizing the importance of building social facilities that will remain under state management.
