According to Trend, to achieve strategic sustainability, it is necessary to establish connections between states, diversify economic and transport routes, and develop cooperation based on common interests. This approach, according to the expert, can ensure stability and sustainable development in the region.

Shafiyev noted that in the last six years, Azerbaijan's foreign policy has taken these realities into account.

“Deepening strategic partnerships and expanding interaction with Central Asian countries strengthens the eastern vector of our diplomacy while maintaining a constructive dialogue with the USA and European allies based on mutual respect. Such a balanced approach helps reduce vulnerability and creates new opportunities for regional and national development,” he added.

The expert also noted that a shared history and rich cultural heritage serve as an important foundation for cooperation. However, today, the key factor is geo-economics, encompassing partnerships in energy, transport, and infrastructure.

“In conditions where traditional notions of stability in Eurasia are losing relevance, these connections become more significant and strategically important,” concluded Farid Shafiyev.
