Edil Baisalov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, identified the rising prices of goods and services as one of the key issues for Kyrgyzstan. He made this statement after a nationwide meeting chaired by President Sadyr Japarov. Despite positive macroeconomic indicators, the increase in prices remains a significant challenge for society.

According to him, the country's economy is showing confident growth rates, but discussions about rising prices continue. "The budget has increased 3.5 times, and the economic growth rate is 10-11 percent," Baisalov added.

He noted that the president is closely monitoring the situation, and the economic block of the government conducts weekly monitoring and takes measures to improve the situation.

Baisalov characterized the increase in prices as a global phenomenon that became more noticeable during the pandemic and was exacerbated by geopolitical restrictions. "Our economy remains stable. The som has maintained its value for five years, but the influence of global markets is putting pressure," he said.

The Deputy Chairman presented comparative data: at the previous rate of development, the average salary in 2025 could be around 23,000 soms, and the average pension could be about 7,000. Currently, the average pension reaches 11,238 soms, and according to him, no pensioner receives less than 8,000 soms.

He also noted that if the government had continued to act in the same way, the poverty level could have reached 50% of the population. Therefore, the current focus is on supporting production, creating jobs, increasing export potential, and improving social assistance.

Baisalov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is confidently moving towards sustainable development. "It is important to maintain the current pace. We must not lose optimism. The unity of the people and trust between the authorities and citizens are priorities, and other issues can be resolved," he concluded.
