At the meeting of the country's Security Council, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced an initiative to review Uzbekistan's defense doctrine. The press service of the head of state reported on this event.

In an official statement, it was mentioned that the time has come to rethink the defense doctrine adopted eight years ago, as well as the national security concept developed in 1997.
Mirziyoyev emphasized the need to strengthen the military security and defense of the state in light of the dynamically changing regional and global situation. He noted the importance of transitioning to a systematic and proactive approach in the defense sector aimed at preventing potential risks and threats.
Additionally, goals were outlined for creating a new model of compulsory military service, which will include training servicemen in professional skills and providing real opportunities after demobilization. In particular, it is planned that annually 5,000 conscripts will undergo training within the frameworks of the "One Million Programmers" and "Five Million Leaders in AI" programs.

Measures are also planned to ensure conditions for servicemen to enroll in universities during their service, as well as support for their education after demobilization, including compensation for obtaining certificates and interest-free educational loans.

Furthermore, measures will be expanded to assist in the employment of demobilized servicemen, including support for entrepreneurial initiatives and the provision of additional benefits when seeking employment.
