Karybek Uulu fears that tightening penalties for drunk driving will hit the family budget

The deputy noted that the deprivation of rights could negatively affect family income

Discussing plans to tighten penalties for driving under the influence of alcohol, Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Ulukbek Karybek Uulu expressed his concern that the deprivation of driving rights for a period of 1 year to 12 years could significantly impact the financial capabilities of families, especially in rural areas.

In his opinion, such measures could lead to serious social consequences.

In response, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oktobyr Urmambetov stated that he understands how such measures will affect the family budget. Nevertheless, he emphasized that the main task remains ensuring safety and protecting human life.

He added that every driver should be aware of their responsibility for driving under the influence, as irresponsible behavior on the road can lead to death or disability of people.
