Tashiev held a meeting of the KRSU Board: the university announced a new stage of modernization and growth
At the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after Boris Yeltsin, chaired by the head of the State National Security Committee Kamchybek Tashiev, important issues regarding the further development of the university were discussed. Tashiev emphasized that the university demonstrates impressive dynamics comparable to leading international educational institutions and noted its strategic significance for both countries — Kyrgyzstan and Russia.

Kamchybek Tashiev stated: “We are observing changes at the university. A large-scale modernization of infrastructure is underway, new educational programs are being developed in accordance with the demands of the economy, and new opportunities are being created for students, teachers, and researchers. This dynamics underscores that KRSU continues to be an important strategic project for both countries. Our joint efforts make a significant contribution not only to education but also to the future of our states.”

At the meeting, the results of the work for 2025 were also summarized, and tasks for 2026 were defined. The rector of KRSU, Sergey Volkov, presented a report on activities in various areas — education, science, and infrastructure, including plans for campus development, opening new branches, and supporting student initiatives.

The rector noted: “The Board of Trustees positively assessed our report for the past seven months. During this period, we attracted over 60 million soms from the trustees, which allowed us to create three named classrooms and establish named scholarships from companies, as well as replenish the endowment fund. In particular, the company ‘Bishkek Solar’ contributed 10 million, and ‘Orion’ — 5 million. Now the total amount of the endowment fund is 18.5 million soms. Although this is a small amount, it is real support for our development.”

He added that the university plans to strengthen support for sports teams, continue the implementation of named scholarships, and modernize infrastructure, including updating the vehicle fleet. “Our proposals have been conveyed to each member of the Board of Trustees, and we are currently working on their implementation. The university continues to renew and develop, and we are moving in this direction,” he concluded.

KRSU is expanding its strategic partnership by signing a memorandum of cooperation with Rosatom, which includes joint educational and engineering projects, including the establishment of a project office for hydropower. Agreements have also been concluded with PJSC Kirov Plant and specialized training centers to create a Russian-Kyrgyz Center for Vocational Training.

Roadmaps for cooperation with the Tax Service of the Kyrgyz Republic and Gazprom Kyrgyzstan have been confirmed. The university has also signed a memorandum with Wildberries to develop digital and entrepreneurial skills among students.

The decisions made strengthen KRSU's transition to a long-term development model focused on integrating education, science, and the real sector of the economy, as well as enhancing the university's status as one of the leading educational centers in the region.
