On February 24 in Geneva, against the backdrop of the 61st session of the UN Human Rights Council, the Kyrgyz delegation held a diplomatic reception, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic.

In his speech, Zheenbek Kulubaev emphasized the significance of Geneva as an important center of international diplomacy. He noted that in the context of escalating conflicts, humanitarian crises, and climate challenges, the UN Human Rights Council remains "a key instrument for dialogue and preventing systemic violations of human rights on the planet."

The Minister stressed that since Kyrgyzstan's third membership in the Council, which will end in 2025, "the commitment to human rights for the country has become not just declarative but practical and forms the basis of both domestic and foreign policy."

Kulubaev also confirmed that Kyrgyzstan will remain "a consistent supporter of international institutions, UN reform, and fair representation of countries in key bodies of the organization."

Furthermore, he noted that thanks to "the political will of the leaders of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan," it was possible to resolve the long-standing border issue in the Fergana Valley, which contributed to strengthening security, trust, and dialogue in Central Asia.

The Minister added that the country is actively working on preserving the heritage of nomadic culture and promoting the global agenda for sustainable development in mountainous regions. He also invited participants to take part in the World Nomad Games scheduled for 2026 and the Second Global Mountain Summit in 2027.

In conclusion of his speech, Kulubaev assured representatives of UN member states of the unchanging "multivector course of Kyrgyzstan aimed at upholding high standards of humanism, strengthening global peace, security, and ensuring fundamental human rights," as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the KR.
