At a meeting of the relevant committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, Asel Raimkulova, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, announced the establishment of a state enterprise "Ekooperator." This institution was founded as part of a reform to improve the waste management system and will be responsible for implementing the extended producer responsibility mechanism for goods manufacturers.

The Deputy Minister also noted that over 74 million soms have already been collected in the form of recycling fees. This indicates the beginning of the effective operation of the new mechanism.

In addition, new approaches to systematic waste management are being implemented in the country. Standard rules for the management of municipal waste have been established, and requirements for the disposal of used batteries and lubricants have been strengthened through the relevant cabinet resolution. An important step has also been the introduction of a ban on the burial of waste containing valuable components, which should promote recycling and reduce environmental impact.
